    Shift: Day Shift & Night Shift
    Schedule: Turnaround, working straight through 12-13 hours per day

    Responsibilities 

    Reporting to the Foreman, the Labourer assumes responsibility for all general duties required on industrial construction projects. 

    • Driving crew from designated parking lot in Fort Saskatchewan to and from site.
    • Load and unload materials and move materials to work area.
    • Shoveling snow/sanding, housekeeping, and other manual labour tasks. 
    • Operate equipment to include, but not limited to: vehicles, forklifts/telehandlers and pallet jacks. 
    • Spotting light vehicles or heavy equipment. 
    • Operate and care for tools, equipment, and machines. 
    • Maintain clean and safe equipment and work areas. 
    • Assist with material management. 
    • Follow instructions/protocol/policy from the supervisor. 
    • Assist craft workers as necessary. 
    • Address and escalate safety concerns. 
    • Complete other duties as assigned by the Foreman. 

    Qualifications 

    • Experience as a general Labourer in the Industrial construction industry is required 
    • CSTS-2020 
    • Fall Protection 
    • Clean driver’s abstract
    • Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
    • Confined Space Entry and Monitor an asset
    • Telehandler, forklift, and skid steer certificate an asset 
    • Elevated Work Platform an asset 

    Working Conditions 

    • This is a highly physical job, you must be physically able to lift 50 lbs, climb, bend and work in confined spaces 
    • Compliance to site pre-access Drug and Alcohol testing 
    • Dependable transportation is required to get to designated parking lot 
    • Overtime as required 
    • Working at heights in and around noise and dust 
    • Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions 
    • Must be clean shaven and able to wear an air purifying respirator 
    • Personal safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, foam-backed prescription safety glasses (if required), etc. 

    Physical Requirements 

    • Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs.; Occasionally lift items weighing more than 50lbs. with assistance
    • Stand or walk for long periods of time 
    • Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects 
    • Climb stairs, scaffolds, and other objects

    Schedule: Pre-turnaround starting May 20th – schedule of 4 days on, 3 days off – Dayshift. Followed by turnaround schedule starting May 31st straight through till mid June – Nightshift.

    Stuart Olson is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to join our team during the turnaround phase. This position involves working pre-turnaround days and switching to the night shift at the client site in Fort Saskatchewan. Join our supportive team and play a vital role in ensuring excellence in all aspects of quality control.

    Responsibilities include: 

    • Ensure adherence to Stuart Olson’s Quality Management System. 
    • Prepare the Inspection and Test Plans (ITP’s) ensuring all quality control activities are identified, hold/witness points set and approvals obtained from the Client and AI as required.
    • Review and release all technical documentation (drawings, specifications, etc.) for work execution. 
    • Lead a quality team by mentoring, delegating and managing priorities. 
    • Control of nonconforming materials. 
    • Notify Client and/or Authorized Inspector (AI) prior to start of work and for witness or hold points. 
    • Verify welder qualification record suitability for scope of work. 
    • Verify welding is being performed within the parameters of the accepted Welding Procedure Specification(s). 
    • Perform visual inspection of joint preparation, fit-up, in-process welding and completed weld for compliance with the WPS, client specifications and Code of Construction. 
    • Prepare Nondestructive Examination (NDE) requests and review NDE Reports. 
    • Prepare Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) instructions and review final PWHT documentation to verify cycles meet or exceed the requirements of the applicable WPS(s). 
    • Prepare pressure testing packages, obtain client written approvals and witness pressure tests. 
    • Ensure that monitoring and measuring equipment (e.g. pressure test gauges, welding equipment, etc.) have been calibrated properly.  
    • Interface with the AI for vessel repair, alterations and ASME B31.1 BEP.

    Qualifications 

    • CWB Level 2 certification
    • Journeyman trade designation an asset 
    • C.E.T. in Welding Engineering Technology (WET) or Materials Engineering Technology (MET) an asset 
    • 3-5 years’ experience in the maintenance or construction industry 
    • CWB certified Welding Supervisor an asset 
    • Excellent computer skills with a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of products and Bluebeam Revu 
    • Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
