    Stuart Olson is currently hiring a Automotive Mechanic for a long-term maintenance position at an industrial site in the Conklin area. This is a camp-based role with fly-in/fly-out transportation provided from either Edmonton or Calgary. The schedule offers a balanced rotation of 7 days on and 7 days off, running Monday to Monday.     Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Foreman, the Automotive Mechanic will be responsible for:

    • Review and processing of work orders
    • Perform preventative maintenance as it relates to repairing or replacing worn parts, oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups.
    • Using electronic diagnostic equipment to identify faults and malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit
    • Properly disposing of used oil, radiator fluid, worn-out parts, and other components
    • Complying with company and government regulations
    • Ensure work areas are kept clean and free of hazards.
    • Ensure tools and equipment are returned to job boxes and tool cribs.
    • Report all incidents, “near miss” incidents including damages/non-damage, injury/non-injury incidents.
    • Review and participate in the preparation of safe work practices/procedures as required.
    • Other tasks and labor duties as required on the jobsite.

    Qualifications

    • Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification
    • Valid driver’s licence
    • H2S Alive
    • Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
    • Ability to take direction and follow through on instructions
    • Positive attitude to safety
    • Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude
    • Superior written and verbal communication skills
    • Pre-site Drug and Alcohol testing

    Working Conditions

    • Work to begin immediately
    • Camp provided
    • Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
    • Working in and around noise and dust
    • Must be clean shaven
    • Personal safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc. (Coveralls, hard hat, gloves, safety glasses are provided at site)
    • Flights from Edmonton or Calgary are provided

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to stand, crouch, and kneel for long periods of time
    • Ability to lift up to 25kg
    • Exposure to hazards such as heights, power tools, slips, falls, falling objects, and sharp hand tools

  • Instrumentation Technician Maintenance

    Stuart Olson is building their Maintenance team at a client site in the Conklin area. If you are a ticketed, seasoned Instrumentation Technician, looking for long term work join this team. 

     Responsibilities

    • Test troubleshoot and repair transmitters, switches, control valves.
    • Calibrate and adjust set points on a variety of different instruments.
    • Coordinate with control room to stroke and function test valves and dampers.
    • Install and trouble tubing and air actuated instruments.
    • Observe functioning of installed equipment or systems to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation or replacement.
    • Repair faulty equipment or systems.
    • Understand and practice company policies and procedures.
    • Maintain safe work practices.

    Qualifications

    • Certified Journeyperson Instrumentation ticket
    • Industrial maintenance experience working on a Petro-Chemical facility is an asset
    • Ability to take direction and follow through on instructions
    • Positive attitude towards safety
    • Ability to work collaboratively
    • Superior written and verbal communication skills
    • Superior focus on customer satisfaction
    • Compliance to site Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol testing
    • Valid driver’s license

    • CSTS 2020
    • Energy Safety Canada (ESC)
      • H2s Alive
      • ESC Fall Arrest
      • Confined Space an asset

    Working Conditions

    • CSA approved steel-toed safety boots will be required
    • Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions; in and around noise and dust
    • Coveralls, safety glasses/goggles, hard hat and gloves are provided
    • Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 lbs. with assistance
    • Stand or walk for long periods of time and able to climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects
