We’re currently seeking a Quality Control Inspector that is local to the Cold Lake area to join our dedicated team at a client site in Cold Lake, AB.     Responsibilities include: 

    • Coordinate and participate in preparation, implementation, and turnover, of all project quality documentation. 
    • Prepare the Inspection and Test Plans (ITP’s) ensuring all quality control activities are identified, hold/witness points set, and approvals obtained from the Client and AI as required.  
    • Review and release technical documentation (drawings, specifications, etc.) for work execution.  
    • Verify welding is performed within the parameters of the accepted Welding Procedure Specification(s) including verifying welder qualifications, and welding inspection.  
    • Inspection of multi discipline field activities and products. 
    • Prepare Nondestructive Examination (NDE) requests and review NDE Reports.  
    • Interface with the AI for vessel repair, alterations and ASME B31.1 BEP.  
    • Participate in audits of the Quality Management System.  

     Qualifications  

    • CWB Level 2 
    • Will consider a strong CWB  Level 1 Quality Inspector
    • 3-5 years’ experience in the maintenance or construction industry  
    • Extensive experience working with the client developing  Inspection and Test Plans (ITP’s) ensuring all quality control activities are identified, hold/witness points set, and approvals obtained from the Client and AI as required.  
    • Journeyman trade designation an asset  
    • C.E.T. in Welding Engineering Technology (WET) or Materials Engineering Technology (MET) an asset  
    • Experience working with regulatory authorities (TSBC, ABSA, TSASK, ITSM)  
    • Excellent computer skills with a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of products and Bluebeam Revu  

    Required Safety Tickets 

    • CSTS 2020 

    Energy Safety Canada Certified  

    •   Fall Protection.  
    •   Confined Space Entry & Monitor.  
    •   Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol testing  

    Working Conditions  

    • Working at heights, in confined spaces and around noise and dust 
    • Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions  
    • Must be clean shaven  
    • Personal safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots,  

    Physical Requirements  

    • Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 lbs. with assistance  
    • Stand or walk for long periods of time  
    • Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects  
    • Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects

    Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Superintendent, the Insulator will be responsible for:

    • Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine insulation requirements.
    • Select the amount and type of insulation to be installed as well as a method of securing the insulation according to the type and shape of the surface, whether, or not the equipment is cold or hot, inside or outside, and what the equipment is going to be used for.
    • Operate Manlifts
    • Measure and cut insulating material and coverings to the required shape and dimensions.
    • Fit insulation around obstructions or shape insulation materials and protective coverings.
    • Install vapor barriers and finish insulated surfaces by applying metal cladding, plastic or cement.
    • Report all incidents, “near miss” incidents including damages/non-damage, injury/non-injury incidents.
    • Review and participate in the preparation of safe work practices/procedures as required.
    • Other tasks and labor duties as required on the jobsite.

    Qualifications

    • AIT ID or Journeyperson Ticket or Proof of Hours for non-ticketed Journeyperson
    • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean Driver’s Abstract
    • Fall Protection (ESC)
    • H2S Alive (ESC)
    • CSTS 2020
    • CSE (ESC)
    • Positive attitude to safety
    • Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude
    • Superior written and verbal communication skills
    • Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol testing

    Working Conditions

    • Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
    • Working at heights
    • Working in and around noise and dust
    • Must be clean shaven
    • Personal safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to stand, crouch, and kneel for long periods of time
    • Ability to lift up to 25kg
    • Climbing stairs/ladders regularly
    • Exposure to hazards such as heights, power tools, slips, falls, falling objects, and sharp hand tools
