We’re looking for Mechanical Planner, local to the Red Deer area, to join our team with an immediate start date for a long-term maintenance contract. Responsibilities
- Develop detailed mechanical job plans, work packages and task lists for maintenance, turnaround, or project activities
- Conduct field walkdowns to verify scope, identify constraints and ensure constructability
- Identify required labour, materials, tools, permits and equipment
- Build BOM and coordinate with supply chain for delivery
- Sequence work to maximize tool time and minimize equipment downtime
- Coordinate with site stakeholders to validate scope
- Support schedule development by providing accurate duration and crew estimates
- Assist with scope change requests during execution and provide on-site planning support
Qualifications
- Red Seal Mechanical Trade ticket preferred or will consider a mechanical engineering diploma with site experience
- 5 – 10 years of mechanical planning experience in a petro chemical or heavy industrial sites
- Proficiency with CMMS software (SAP) and planning tools
- Able to read engineering drawings and able to interpret technical specifications
- Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol testing

- CSTS 2020
Working Conditions

- Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
- Must be clean shaven
- Personal safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots
Physical Requirements
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 lbs. with assistance
- Stand or walk for long periods of time
- Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects
- Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects
