Travel Allowance: $500.00 per rotation

Start Date: April 2025
End Date: June 2025
Pre Turnaround – 8 days on 6 days off
Turnaround Schedule: 10 days on 4 days off – 11.5 hour days

Plan your 2025 Instrumentation project / turnaround work with Stuart Olson.  Stuart Olson is searching for Journeyperson Instrumentation technicians to join us for upcoming turnaround and project work at a client site in Northern Alberta. This job provides the opportunity to earn above average pay that includes travel allowance and overtime. and work with a team that values safety, fair compensation, and employee experience.

Responsibilities

  • Tests troubleshoot and repair transmitters, switches, control valves.
  • Calibrate and adjust set points on a variety of different instruments.
  • Coordinate with control room to stroke and function test valves and dampers.
  • Install and trouble tubing and air actuated instruments.
  • Observe functioning of installed equipment or systems to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
  • Repair faulty equipment or systems.
  • Completion of client mandatory site training requirements, ESC Permits, Isolations and Lockouts
  • Strong mathematical, scientific, mechanical, and logical reasoning abilities
  • Positive attitude towards safety with the ability to work collaboratively with the team
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Focus on customer satisfaction.

 Qualifications

  • Certified Journeyperson Instrumentation ticket
  • Industrial Project experience working on a SAGD Petro-Chemical facility is an asset.
  • Compliance to site Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol testing
  • Valid driver’s license and current driver abstract.

    • H2s Alive
    • ESC Fall Arrest
    • ESC Confined Space
    • ESC AWP 

Working Conditions

  • Compliance to Pre Access Drug and Alcohol testing
  • Must have reliable transportation to get to camp
  • CSA approved steel-toed safety boots will be required.
  • Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and wintry weather conditions; in and around noise and dust
  • Coveralls, safety glasses/goggles, hard hat and gloves are provided.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 lbs. with assistance.
  • Stand or walk for extended periods of time and able to climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects.
