What You’ll Do:

  • Collaboratively work with site leadership to develop and facilitate an overall proactive safety culture on the work site.
  • Act as a resource to field personnel to provide coaching, mentoring, and advice on all HSE related matters.
  • Ensure hazards associated with the work site are identified, documented, and controlled.
  • Ensure all incidents on the worksite are reported, investigated and documented in accordance with SOI and client requirements, and corrective action plans are implemented.
  • Inspire trust in difficult situations by instilling confidence and engaging people on matters that affect them
  • Collaborate with a dynamic team to drive.

Qualifications:

  • National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation
  • 1 year OH&S Certificate; OHS diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety preferred 
  • Accreditation as an OH&S Professional – CRSP, CSP or NEBOSH preferred
  • NCSO plus other post-secondary education considered
  • 3-5 years’ HSE maintenance experience in a refinery and/or live chemical plant will an asset
  • Valid driver’s license with a 3 year driver’s abstract
  • Required Safety Tickets:
    • CSTS-2020
    • Energy Safety Canada
      • Fall Protection
      • Confined Space
      • EWP (an asset)
  • Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol Test

 Working Conditions 

  • Working at heights, in and around noise, dust, indoor and outdoor in hot and cold weather conditions
  • Working in a confined space
  • Personal safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots

   Physical Requirements 

  • Must be clean shaven
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 lbs. with assistance
  • Stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects
