Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Workforce Planning, the Craft Recruiter will be responsible for the full cycle recruitment of open craft ensuring project sites are staffed in an efficient, timely manner with qualified employees while creating an exceptional candidate and hiring team experience. They will work closely with and support the field operations management teams.
Responsibilities
- Conduct full cycle recruitment of open craft staff to meet the needs of high-volume projects in line with the policies, procedures, standards and the hourly workflow.
- Actively source candidates as appropriate.
- Develop content for job postings in collaboration with the hiring team.
- Review resumes, share with the hiring teams and conduct first-level phone screens confirming credentials and work experience based on site specific safety conditions and requirements.
- Schedule pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
- Track and mobilize active open craft personnel to new projects as required.
- Manage candidate files in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), including documenting all communication and activity throughout the process.
- Work closely with the onboarding team to process hires
- Maintain complete and accurate staffing documentation as required by law within the ATS (Applicant Tracking System).
- Participate in planning meetings with the business to stay current on upcoming projects and resource requirements.
- Manage general employment inquiries.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in human resources, business or in a related field preferred
- RPR Designation an asset
- 3+ years’ recruiting experience in high volume trades recruitment
- Experience in the construction and oil and gas industries an asset
- Experience using applicant Tracking systems
- Familiarity with the dynamics, operations, processes and organizational interdependencies of construction and industrial services preferred
- Knowledge of sourcing, selection and staffing strategies, programs, vendors and tools
- Understanding of workforce-related federal and provincial employment laws and regulations
- Experience working within an ATS system; Taleo experience an asset
- Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships with multiple groups
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment
- Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritization of work to achieve them
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Highly developed interpersonal and organizational skills
