Ropes Technician – Electrical
Location: Conklin area
Schedule: Start Immediately – 8 days on 6 days off
Travel: $300.00 Travel allowance per shift rotation
Accommodation: Camp is provided
You Are:
Stuart Olson is seeking Journeyperson IRATA Level 1 or Level 2 Rope Access Technician with proven experience working on large integrated industrial facilities such as oil & gas plants, petrochemical complexes, power generation sites, or major processing facilities. The successful candidate will support inspection, maintenance, and project execution activities while upholding the highest standards of safety and operational discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform rope access work in accordance with IRATA standards and company procedures
- Support inspection, maintenance, repair, and construction tasks at height
- Assist with rigging, equipment setup, and safe access planning
- Complete documentation, permits, and field reports accurately
- Work collaboratively with multi‑disciplinary teams in a complex industrial environment
- Maintain equipment and ensure compliance with safety regulations
Qualifications
- Valid IRATA Level 1 or Level 2 certification
- Journeyperson Electrician
- Minimum 1–3 years of industrial rope access experience
- Experience working on large integrated industrial facilities (required)
- Strong understanding of industrial safety systems, hazard identification, and permit-to-work processes
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments and variable weather conditions
- Additional trade or technical skills (NDT, mechanical, insulation, scaffolding, etc.)

- Energy Safety Canada (ESC)
- ESC H2S Alive
- ESC Fall Arrest
Working Conditions
- Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
- Working in and around noise and dust
- Must be clean shaven
- Working in confined spaces
- Coveralls, safety glasses/goggles, hard hat and gloves are provided
- CSA approved steel-toed safety boots will be required
Physical Requirements
- Stand or walk for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 25kg, to stand, crouch, and kneel for long periods of time
- Climbing stairs/ladders regularly
- Exposure to hazards such as heights, power tools, slips, falls, falling objects, and sharp hand tools
