We’re seeking applications for Journeypersons &  3rd and 4th year Apprentices to join our team at our client site in Fort McMurray. Responsibilities  

  • Reads and interprets electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings and electrical code specifications
  • Pulling cable/wire through conduits and cable trays
  • Installs, replaces, maintains, and repairs electrical systems and related electrical equipment
  • Cable glanding and Terminations 
  • Point to Point verifications to ensure integrity and safety of installations 
  • Ability to work off ground, with ladders, scaffolding and AWP
  • Ability to measure, cut, fab and install cable trays
  • Installation of heat trace, and heat trace components 
  • Installation of light fixtures, junction boxes and miscellaneous pieces of equipment ranging in various weights from 5 lbs. to 50 lbs
  • May perform other related duties as assigned 

Qualifications 

  • Journeyman Electrician ticket or Apprentice ID
  • Must have project/construction experience; ideally working a turnaround on a complex  Oil and Gas Facility  
  • Valid government-issued photo ID
  • CSTS-2020 / CSO / CSTS 09 (site specific) 
  • Energy Safety Canada H2S Alive 
  • Confined Space Entry Monitor
  • Aerial Work Platform
  • Completion of client mandatory site training requirements, ESC Permits, Isolations and Lockouts
  • Strong mathematical, scientific, mechanical, and logical reasoning abilities
  • Positive attitude towards safety with the ability to work collaboratively
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Focus on customer satisfaction 
  • Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol testing

Working Conditions 

  • Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
  • Working in and around noise and dust
  • Must be clean shaven
  • Personal safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots

 Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk, climb, stand, crouch, and kneel for long periods of time
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 lbs. with assistance
  • Climbing stairs/ladders regularly
  • Exposure to hazards such as heights, power tools, slips, falls, falling objects, and sharp hand tools
