Stuart Olson is searching for Power Sytems Maintenance Planner to join our dynamic team at our client site in the Wood Buffalo Region for an immediate start date. The ideal candidate will be working a 4 on, 3 off schedule, 10 hours per day. The ideal candidate will have a background in Transmission & Distribution and Power Systems >13.8 kV with preference given to ticketed Journeyperson Electrician, Power Systems Electrician or Electrical Technologist with SAP and planning experience. Responsibilities
- Plan Corrective Work Orders – Manage and resolve notification backlogs to ensure all corrective work is planned efficiently.
- Vendor Coordination – Obtain quotes from vendors, ensuring competitive pricing and service agreements.
- Release Preventative Maintenance (PM) – Oversee and address the preventative maintenance backlog to ensure PM’s are released within their proper cycles
- Task List Creation and Revision – Develop and revise task lists for ongoing and future maintenance activities.
- Meeting Attendance – Actively participate in the following meetings:
- Weekly planning meetings
- Scheduling meetings
- Production unit meetings
- Write and develop scope for work packages and work orders.
- Maintain, improve, and optimize our job plans, task lists, strategies and procedures utilizing continuous improvement initiatives and techniques.
- Assemble relevant drawings, single line diagrams, layout out drawings, schematics, Data Sheets for technicians to complete the scope of work with all information readily available.
- Prepare estimated execution hours for work packages.
- Ensure all materials for the work order or project are available, order material, track delivery dates for critical path activities.
- Identify permit requirements for the work, include Safe Work Procedures, both client and Stuart Olson best practices.
- Identify Lock Out Requirements and Isolation Points for Electrical equipment.
- Provide feedback to schedulers on baseline maintenance schedule, identify potential impacts to schedule as it relates to work orders.
- Assist with collecting drawings and information for break in work.
- Seek feedback on package quality and estimates from the Operation/Maintenance Coordinators and field technicians and implement recommended changes.
- Assist in the development of maintenance programs and provide input and suggestions to improve effectiveness, processes, and procedures.
- Identify and implement improvements in workflow.
- Assist Operation/Maintenance Coordinators in performance management and productivity evaluations by discipline.
- Task list generated with associated execution hours to those applicable tasks.
- Creating detailed long text task description for applicable parties.
- Identify any Engineering requirements or additional safety concerns not previously captured.
Qualifications/Training

- Additional training will be provided to ensure you are fully equipped for the following responsibilities:
- Handling basic maintenance and operation coordinator duties as needed in a fill-in capacity.
- Becoming proficient in our systems, tools, and protocols for efficient work management.
- Journeyperson Power Systems Electrician or Electrical Technologist
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Advanced SAP, Microsoft Office, and PDF editor skills
- H2S Alive
- CSTS 09 or OSSA BSO or PST or SCOT or CSO
- About 5-10+ year’s experience with Transmission & Distribution and Utilities Facilities Installations and Maintenance work practices
- Previous experience at Suncor Firebag considered an asset
- Ability to read, understand and interpret industry terminology
- Power systems Maintenance and/Operations experience
- Ability to assess hazards and risk.
- Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships with multiple groups.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
Working Conditions
- Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
- Must be clean shaven
- Personal safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots,
