    Responsibilities 

    • Plan new or modify installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes. 
    • Trouble shoot electrical equipment; including 120V-5kV circuitry, control systems, HVAC systems, cathodic protection, electrical Heat trace removal and reinstate.  
    • Energize and de-energize breakers and VFD’s. 
    • Maintain, operate and performance monitoring on 480V-5kV MCC line ups throughout the facility.   
    • Transformer monitoring and maintenance dry and oil bath types. 
    • Repair faulty equipment or systems. 
    • Understand and practice company policies and procedures. 
    • Actively participate in our health and safety program. 
    • Other duties as requested by the Supervisor.  

     Qualifications 

    • Journeyperson Electrician or apprentice ticket 
    • Industrial plant maintenance experience required 
    • Positive attitude towards safety 
    • Ability to work collaboratively  
    • Superior written and verbal communication skills  
    • Superior focus on customer satisfaction 
    • Valid driver’s license (based on requirements of the role)  
    • Pre Access Drug and Alcohol testing required

     Safety Tickets: 

    • OSSA Regional Orientation, CSO Common Safety Orientation, BSO Basic Safety Orientation or PST Petroleum Safety Training 
    • Energy Safety Canada (ESC)  
    • ESC H2s Alive 
    • ESC Fall Arrest 
    • ESC AWP 
    • Confined Space an asset

    Working Conditions 

    • Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions 
    • Working in and around noise and dust 
    • Must be clean shaven  
    • Working in confined spaces 
    • Coveralls, safety glasses/goggles, hard hat and gloves are provided  
    • CSA approved steel-toed safety boots will be required 

     Physical Requirements 

    • Stand or walk for long periods of time 
    • Ability to lift up to 25kg, to stand, crouch, and kneel for long periods of time 
    • Climbing stairs/ladders regularly

    Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Superintendent, the Insulator will be responsible for:

    • Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine insulation requirements.
    • Select the amount and type of insulation to be installed as well as a method of securing the insulation according to the type and shape of the surface, whether, or not the equipment is cold or hot, inside or outside, and what the equipment is going to be used for.
    • Operate Manlifts
    • Measure and cut insulating material and coverings to the required shape and dimensions.
    • Fit insulation around obstructions or shape insulation materials and protective coverings.
    • Install vapor barriers and finish insulated surfaces by applying metal cladding, plastic or cement.
    • Report all incidents, “near miss” incidents including damages/non-damage, injury/non-injury incidents.
    • Review and participate in the preparation of safe work practices/procedures as required.
    • Other tasks and labor duties as required on the jobsite.

    Qualifications

    • AIT ID or Journeyperson Ticket or Proof of Hours for non-ticketed Journeyperson
    • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean Driver’s Abstract
